You say you love your children above all else, and yet you are stealing their future in front of their very eyes...
— Greta Thunberg, Climate Activist and Swedish High School Student

Here at Climate Impact we believe children around the world and future generations deserve a sustainable future. The first step is to help citizens understand the scope of the climate crisis so they will be equipped to vote for the right politicians or demand action from their current ones. We also support citizens taking action in their own lives to mitigate and adapt to climate change, which will have a collective impact. So let’s start co-creating our sustainable future!

Carol has been in the environmental field since the 1990s but never learned about the climate crisis until she watched the 2006 documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". It was this documentary that woke Carol up to the urgency of the climate crisis. Why had she not learned about this in school and why was no one talking about it?! Fast forward to 2018...despite increased recent coverage of climate change in the news, the speed at which the climate is changing and the urgency with which we must transition to a low carbon economy are still not widely understood. Carol founded Climate Impact to support local initiatives to educate the community about the climate crisis and inspire action for a healthier sustainable future. We simply do not have any time to lose if we want a peaceful and prosperous future for our children and grandchildren.

Carol is Principal of Achieve Sustainability Inc. and has 25 years of environmental and climate consulting experience and a PhD in Environmental Engineering. She was trained as a Climate Reality Leader by Al Gore in Mississauga in 2015 and has volunteered with the City of Mississauga to communicate the risks and opportunities associated with climate change. She is an alumnus of the Homeward Bound transformational leadership program, which, in 2019, included Christiana Figueres (chief architect of the Paris Accord) as faculty. Carol lives in Mississauga with her husband, Mike, and her two children, Aidan, and Maya.
